Tempted but I've read that getting an actual game started and people joining via the lobby system is borked for the PC version. Also Gamespy ID?

Like the cell shading and apparently the game does have a fair bit of life to it n terms of multiple playthroughs.

If it's going to have even half the life of Diablo then little things like "It doesn't work as intended" are small hurdles. The skill trees are supposedly shit-short-n-simple as well, but given the state of gaming now, that doesn't surprise, or bother me. They should attain the state of "ludicrous complexity" in a very short number of patches.

I don't care a whit for the cel shading, for or against, except for the fact that less realistic rendering should make for better framerates. If cel = frames, I'm all for it. I really don't care if I'm looking at twelve pixels worth of Space Invader, or twelve-million polys worth of Unreal Model, so long as it's stutter-free. Solid framerates from the engine are going to be the final say in what makes or breaks this game, and from the YT vids I've been watching, it looks good.

It does look interesting. I just wish there was a demo on the xbox. By not releasing a demo, it is one of the first flags to go up for me. Why wouldn't they want you to try their product before buying it?

Hopefully one of my friends will pick it up so I can give it a try.

I'm sure if you look carefully enough on your favorite BitTorrent site, you'll find a "demo" for xbox. I'm torrenting the full-feature "PC Demo" now. If it's worth it, I'll cough up the bucks.

eh, i am sure I could too, full featured and all. I'm just hesitant hacking my box out of fear of the banhammer from microsoft. Been thinking about grabbing another one just for playing hacked games though, buying quality multiplayer ones i'd want to play online.

Let us know how it is though, I really enjoyed fallout 3. and diablo has always been a fun franchise too.

It's in my rental queue for my Xbox. Co-op RPG/FPS? Yes, thank you very much! I LOL at the idea of having to use gamespy to login. This is what happens when you take console games and put them on the PC. Xbox live is a far better matchmaking service for a game like this!

Yeah friends have been getting around the connection issues but when they do they are mostly loving the game for its cooperative play and the multiple playthroughs which you can extend by be able to reassign skill points to try different builds. Am very tempted but will probably try torchlight first.

Also:

Crossposted from another forum I frequent. Thought it might be of some use to you all.

Theres a major flaw in the ui layout, it shows only 4 bonus on items while infact they can have up to 10 bonuses.

Fix for hidden weapon bonus stats (courtesy of The_Shadow):
----------------------------------------------------
Original Post: http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com...ad.php?t=80932

Apparently, the large font used in the UI makes it impossible to see all of the stats applied to weapons within the game. 4 lines of stats are visible, but the actual number of stats can exceed the number of lines. As such, here is a way to shrink the text:

1. Go to where Borderlands is installed and navigate to the following directory:
Borderlands\WillowGame\Localization\INT\

2. Find the gd_globals.INT file and *BACK IT UP*.

3. Open the gd_globals.INT file and find the following line:
Quote:
AttributePresentationTranslation="$NUMBER$ $CONSTRAINT$ $DESCRIPTION$"
4. Replace it with:
Quote:
AttributePresentationTranslation=$NUMBER$ $CONSTRAINT$ $DESCRIPTION$
(You can modify the font size to your liking, however, size 10 does well to show up to 7 lines.)

5. Save and exit.

Been at it since three this morn. Tis fun. Soldier. Either the engine is not up to FPS demands for smoothness, or I've lost my twitch response. More likely the latter. (What little I had). Need new SMG. Robot must die, all he gonna do is dance, dance. Vehicles funky drivingstyle, point with mouse to go where you want. Run-n-gun from small guys. Big guys, get in their face and kill. Skill Trees need more stuff. Gotta go, need more Bordercrack.

It is worthy to note that there is nothing, absolutely nothing, "new" about this game. It is old and plagarized in every respect. The splash-song is pure Kid-Rock, but it works. Most of the textures are stoled from Fallout, which were previously stoled as well. Some of the mobstyles date back to eightiesgaming, and you know what? That rocks! I'ma go shoot more shit, and get better guns!

I love this game. I shoot things, and they blow up. Plus, I've got all my friends from CAT. Kenny is there, abrading me for beating up his vehicles. Zero Mostel is there, as the narrator, doing Fiddler. I love it!

Flatmate has this for the PS3 and it does look entertaining. Can't abide shooters on consoles though.

THHHIIIIIIIIISSSS!

Action games? Fine.

Adventure Games? No Problem.

Driving games....I'd almost argue they're superior...almost.

Shooters? NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Halo made a bunch a console kiddies thing that two analog sticks were better than a mouse and keyboard because they could still kill baddies. Bad news kids, they dumbed down the AI on your fucking console!

Any shooter that is released on the PC has harder difficulty than the Ecksbocks or PEE-ESS-THREE version.
