Brothers In Arms

Postby Wunderschlung on Mon Sep 21, 2009 12:10 pm

Forgot about this one, so im torrenting (of course lol) BIA Hells Highway now, feedback in a week i guess.

Nice concept in how it mixes RTS with FPS, love the fire and manoeuvre aspect, hopping from cover to cover with covering fire.
If someone hasnt had a go at the series, its worth a pop.
Its a tactical shooter, but in an arcade style.

I played the first one. It was an interesting concept, but not well fleshed out at the time. At first, I thought it was brilliant that you could send a squad to flank the badmens. Then it became pretty apparent that the entire game was based around that move. I wonder if the later ones improved at all?

^^^True, it pretty much is, pin them and flank them, enjoyable though.
Gets trickier when you have multiple enemies, so you cant pin and flank them all at once, also sometimes you get hit by an unseen enemy during your assault.
Ive played the first two versions, the AI got better in that they would fuck off whilst you are manoeuvring towards them.
Im sure the developers are aware of its frailties and hopefully have made an effort to improve it.

It became a damn sight harder when played at the higher levels without a crosshair and without the 'suppression clock' that ticked above the enemies heads. You had to think about it more and be more attentive to whats going on.
