Bush chose not to use military force....

Postby Koz on Sat Jul 25, 2009 4:23 pm

...within american borders. lolwut?

Kind of scary his advisors (specifically the VP, though not too surprising) were pushing him to send the military to this situation in New York.

Am glad some cooler heads prevailed, though given it was in 2002, this kind of thing could have been horrible for reelection.

The Constitution and various laws restrict the military from being used to conduct domestic raids and seize property.

Since when did things like "legality" get in the way of the neofascist agenda?

see, i don't think the constitution had so much to do with his decision as the re-election campaign he was already gearing up for.

Which is really sad. Because i could see a 2006 bush doing this at the drop of a hat.
