I hate the cross country ski faggots who venture onto alpine runs. They use a technique called "Telemarking" which involves making a 90 degree turn across the face of the slope to eat speed, as they can't make a hard quick turn on their skis. Nowt like heading down the slope and some fag just ahead of you takes a 90 degree turn right into your path! :rage:

Clearly you've never gone skiing. I've skied my whole life and yes, that's a fucking sport!

Cross country skiing is the most aerobically demanding activity there is, the highest energy expenditures in history have been recorded whilst cross country skiing (Sir Ranulph Fiennes). Its the ultimate.
Dislocated my shoulder cross country skiing.

Dunno why you taking that stance with me, im the dude who thinks Chess and poker are sports.

Isn't that obvious? Because of the above question, and because... well, I can't remember...

What's the slope percentage when you go uphill? I've tried downhill once during a vacation but most of my skiing experience comes from distance skiing on flat surfaces in Russia when I was a kid. "Ski walking" if you wish.

This is the one I used to go to:
Le Tunnel Resort Alpe d'Huez
Official rating: Black.

Wow factor: Extreme. Alpe d'Huez is home to the 16km Sarenne, the longest black run in Europe. However, Le Tunnel is much more daunting.

Just how difficult? It depends entirely on the conditions - in particular, the temperature. The setting is dramatic but the actual angle is not severe. In soft powder and warm sunshine the descent should be benign once you have conquered the unnerving first turn. However, when it's cold and icy the tunnel takes on a more sinister character. Any fall that's not immediately arrested can result in a slide of 200m - or worse.

How to ski it: The first butterflies hatch when you view the face from the cable-car as it climbs to the 3,330m summit of Pic Blanc. Surely no one can ski down there?

From the top you either descend a black mogul field on the back face or skirt the far edge of it until you reach a path. Both routes take you to the tunnel itself, a 60m horizontal passage through the rock with enough snow underfoot to let you slide. The full horror is revealed when you emerge into sunlight on the far side. The slope falls away to your left at what appears to be a wicked angle.

Can I bottle out? Sometimes the pisteurs cut a serpentine path across the face - allowing you to traverse away from the steepest pitch.

Not sure about the actual slope percentage, but I remember the beginning looking threateningly vertical!! :ninja:

This video sort of gives an idea. I never went where the dude on the surfboard went (pussy!!), only on the right of the person that holds the camera, which you can see after a few seconds.

Maybe I should start following F1. The racing is boring as fuck, but there's never a shortage of drama. Renault asked one of their drivers to crash on purpose??

Briatore did, no? He was sacked. Apparently he's not popular...

Cheating fuckin Frenchmen.

The French shouldn't be allowed to partake in international sport. They're simply not suitable.

What are you taking about? It was all orchestrated by an Italian and a brit, and carried out by a Brazilian, wasn't it? The French have nothing to do with it. This is an international world, you see...

Note how I did not capitalize the 'b' in 'brit'. :prt: No capital letters for you! :niet: You do not deserve them. In fact I think that you should changed your name to spandex. Not Spandex.

Renault = French.

Sure Briatore is the main man but the rest sound like scapegoating to me. Typical French, trying to pass the blame on to others.

Mostly French, but I wonder how many of the cars are actually produced in France... probably not that much. Plus the whole F1 team division is probably mainly international. That being said, I think I remember Renault being very cozy with zee Germans during WW2. Cunts!

I heard a lot of people describe Briatore as more of a mafioso than anything else... not sure it's scapegoating, but it could very well be, sure. The second guy who was canned was British, oui?

I guess that one is obvious. "Blame the brits!" Seriously, it's usually youse guys' fault... :prt:

I believe a lot of the important parts on all cars come from the Cosworth workshops in Britain.

Dont get me started on who was cozy with the Germans in WW2, got a Nokia phone?

Yeah, well, clearly a part of French history I'm not proud of... although you have to be fair: 1) not everyone did it, so I guess even though it was not exactly widespread, you have to consider that some people behaved courageously, and 2) who knows what people do when they're invaded that they thought they'd never do...

Most of the F1 teams are largely comprised of Brits. We make good cars... when we're not being crippled by unions.

Our biggest client, Henkel, was such a lynchpin of the nazi movement that when the Allies waded into Germany they confiscated everything of theirs. It's part of their history you don't really see in their brochure.
