This seems a cool and very easy way to get seeds to germinate. I can then discard the ones that dont shoot, and easily putthe good ones into a small pot or some rockwool.
Piece of piss!

I always thought Bonzai trees were a diff species, butthey aint, they are normal trees which you prune the ass off. Takes some know how.
Its the same with the chillis, you just prune a plant ina deliberate way.

I got the info from just googling around all things chilli growing:
http://www.fatalii.net/growing/index.ph ... Itemid=114

Seems like a good way to keep a number of plants alive over winter without dominating the house. For me, it just looks damn cool, so i reckon ill have a go.
I lose nothing, as the plants are free, and other than a lamp the basic kit i need is hella cheap.

You know you want a bonzai chilli, dontcha?

You realise that it takes decades to grow a decent bonsai tree right?

There's no way you're making a bonsai in 8 months. Look how thick the stems are on some of those bad boys. They're like tree trunks. That's far more than 8 months worth of growth.

I just read from that link.
Id never have considered a bonzai (even though i do like them) as it takes too much know how. From that guide i read it seems pretty straightforward and quick.
I know when you prune or harvest it leaves more energy for the plant to grow, so a trimmed plant will grow faster than a normal.

My Mothers bonsai tree is roughly the same age as she is. And it cost about £400.

I looked at Bonzai trees in Brighton a while back, and they were hundreds of pounds, frigging ace though.
The dude was discouraging me from getting one as they take a lot of know how.
Part of what the shop did was babysit peoples bonzais when they were away, a bit like putting a dog in a kennel whilst away.

The chilli bonzais, seem to be a diff thing, ill have to read around it more, but the dude in that link talks through it pretty easily and within a year.

quite the set up. just make sure the authorities aren't on to your little grow operation. They can detect it with infared sensors!
