Bleh. Fuck the sidebar. I hate it. I just wish they didn't fuck up the address bar in FF3. Is it possible to downgrade?

Perhaps uninstall FF3 and install FF2.

That might work.

IRT Topic:

I heard that Chrome is a bit system intensive. Especially if you run multiple tabs.

Does anyone know if they've come up with any decent adblocking from Chrome yet? I'm a fucking hurry to uninstall Firefox. Testing web applications with a browser that likes to choke on javascript and die, and then tie up 98% of your CPU for 5 minutes in long, protracted death throes is REALLY not productive.

Interesting. Very simplified interface, but I like being able to fuck with a lot of shit in the background, and you can't really do that with FF or Chrome.

Still gonna stick with Opera.

I decided to stick with IE. It's pretty good now...

I installed Chrome, and am amazed at how fast browsing can be without FF chomping and chewing and thinking every time you click.

I installed AdSweep, and it seems to work nicely. It's a bit of a chore to install, as Chrome doesn't officially support extensions yet, but once I got the scrip in the write place and modified the registry key, it works like a charm.

Chrome has this annoying habit of just ceasing to serve up any more pages. It will tell you that any and every site is unavailable, but if you close it and re-launch it, it will then happily find any page again. Each tab is a separate process, and I usually have anywhere from 5-10 tabs open at a time. I wonder if that's the culprit.

Yeah, I've been using this since shortly after it was released and I am experiencing the same issues that you are.

Pages not showing, tabs not responding to address inputs or anything else for that matter - unwilling to close. One moment I'm typing a link and the next my background screen pops up in the browser causing a weird graphical glitch. At times you need to close the tab and reenter the address into a new one just to make it continue.

But all in all, even though it has bugs, it's great. I only wish they would make some applications for it though because what it has of tools is not always sufficient for me..

I'm getting really annoyed by the fact that I can only watch streaming video if I only have one tab open. AND, the video will only play if that one tab is the first tab I opened after launching Chrome. That's a load of bollocks.

Back to Firefox. They've apparently fixed their crashing problem with videos.

It's not just the video crashes that turned me off firefox. When I click the icon from Chromoogle, I'm instantly browsing. When I click the FF icon (happens too often out of habit), it literally takes 20-30 seconds for FF to open. BLOAT BLOAT BLOAT. I'm done with bloat. It's why I left IE, and I'm not having it from FF either.

Your rig is OLD! I hit the FF icon and it opens in the blink of an eye. No waiting for me. Maybe it's time to follow Pure's lead (Ewww, that's a scary thought), and buy a new laptop.

It's not like I'm using an Apple IIe. If Chromoogle can open on this rig in a heartbeat, the onus is on Firefox to make a leaner browser.
