From the GOP Playbook, 2009 edition...

Postby DickSchittlippz on Thu Sep 10, 2009 10:06 am

"When logic and reason don't support your position, just yell insults at the President."

Really, the Right is scaring the fuck out of me. I thought they would calm down a little while they plotted their course through the post-Bush world. However, it seems that the new GOP tactic is anger, aggression and just plain screaming and yelling. Whether it's town hall meetings about health care or the floor of the US Capitol, the full-on infantile hissy fit is all the rage in the GOP.

I mean, Obama is not my guy, but it just goes to show you how out of control the wingnuts are getting. New England needs to secede in a fucking hurry.

It is rather silly and frightening at the same time. If they legitimately had concerns over it, they aren't doing a good job of getting them voiced, as all you hear about is the crazies talking about death panels and wanting back their country.

The title of the thread discussing this at hickbored should come as no surprise:

"Joe Wilson: American Patriot"

a sidenote, someone at hickbored commented that even in the british parliament they aren't allowed to simply yell "You lie" at one another, despite their ability to shout and protest visually. Is there any truth to this?

The really sad thing is, Obama was responding to a GOP-planted lie when Wilson flipped out. The wingnuts are obsessed with the notion that illegal immigrants will get free health care. It's an idea they conjured up to scare people away from universal healthcare. When Obama said that such a provision was not in his plan, Wilson screamed "you lie!" Even the GOP members of Congress are buying into THEIR OWN LIES. Fucking scary.

Caught by reporters in the hallways outside his office, Wilson called his comments “spontaneous,’’ and said he was still concerned that the bill would cover undocumented residents.

“People who have come to our country and violated laws, we should not be providing full health care services,’’ Wilson said on CNN yesterday.

The bill specifically does not allow undocumented immigrants to receive any government-subsidized health care, a fact many Republicans acknowledge. But because there is no “enforcement mechanism,’’ said Representative Joe Barton, Republican of Texas, there is no way to make sure that does not happen.

So, if the GOP acknowledges it's not a lie, how is it a lie?

You want a lie? The motherfucking cake is a lie!
