Totally badass this thing.
My initial concern was battery life cos it seemed to be killing its battery and was struggling to make 24 hours between charges. However I then figured out that was cos I had everything turned on. It was using it's GPS, it's "push" (ie. it was pinging my mail server plus various app servers looking for new info), wifi and 3G and it was getting slaughtered. Turn off all that (essentially turning it into a phone and ipod) and it lasts over a week. A bit of tweaking of the settings depending on what you're doing and I'm getting about 4 days out of it. Not bad.
Obviously the GPS and google maps are cool. Being able to know exactly where you are (including what direction you're facing) and find pretty much anything (with the Yell.com and AroundMe apps along with Google) is great. As is the combined functionality that lets you just hit a button to instantly phone or email anything you've just found on the map. Nice.
The GPS also allows for some interesting dating apps. I tried a couple and wasn't getting much until I put a pic of Steves cat in my profile and put "kittens" in my Likes box. Then I started getting hit on by all the local middle aged lonely cat-ladies. Uninstalled that app.
Games are sweet and the motion detector and touch screen are simply superb. Means some fun games.
Latest aquisition is Shazam - If you haven't heard of it, it basically recognises music for you. Hit a button and it listens to the track and then tells you what it's called, who sang it, what album it's off, when it was released, where you can buy it (including itunes obv.) and a link to it on Jewtube. Offering it a random selection off the radio it got 5/5 successfully recognising an eclectic mix of Gloria Gaynor and the Pips, The Enemy, David Bowie, Lighthouse Family and some chart R&B cheesedick off Radio One (I had to check the Jewtube link on that cos I'd never heard of the cunt).
