[CAT] Scratching Post

I can't make myself play it any more. Sink 2500+ hours into a game, and you reach a certain point where it starts to make you nauseous.

My brother bought this and I "share" his steam account.
Played a bit with a flatmate today but can't say I know wtf I'm doing.

Not for a long time. I've not abandoned it altogether though. I was still having lots of fun playing it. It'll be nice to go back to a coupla new maps and a raft of new unlocks when I do as well. I've not touched it since the Spy and Scout got theirs.

Found the Pops of the L4D world. Played with him on Saturday and we got on quite well and he seemed a nice guy so I sent him a friend invite and he joined us again last night. Had a really good game with him, flatmate and a buddy from work. He's not the fastest or best shooter but he knows how to play as a team and we have a laugh on comms.

Not found out his personal details but he sounds like he's from the West country. Somerset maybe.

Cracking new user-made campaign. Battling through a coal mine until you emerge outdoors near a big military base and then you have to hold that against the rampaging horde. I was on the minigun hosing down the on-rushing zombies while the others watched my back. Good stuff. All made it out alive too which is rare - You usually lose one or two.

Only play about once a week anymore. I have about 30 steam friends, mostly because they share my love of being an absolute douche in games. Nothing more fun than playing ACDC's 'Big Balls' over the in-game voice on an alltalk server and seeing how fast you can infuriate other players. Most of the time I'm usually kicked within a minute or so, but then you'll find the real gem of another asshole individual that shares my love of 70's funk tracks, and prevents me from getting kicked.

Good god, I've become a lamer!

I'm of the opinion that if you have to do this kind of crap to enjoy the game, you are really having to distract yourself from the fact that you are playing a shit game.

We still play a lot of it and really enjoy it. We play addon campaigns exclusivley now. Some real crackers out there.

Oh, absolutely, I'll admit that. After playing through the campaigns dozens and dozens of times, you've pretty much learned where all the good pouncing, pulling, booming, and tanking spots are, it just gets old and boring. You usually end up on a team of morons that don't have a clue how to work together (though when you get onto a cohesive team, you absolutely dominate, and the game seems slightly more enjoyable at that point), so, why not break up the monotony with some well-blasted muzak.

That, and it's a non-violent way to just go crazy after work.

These shenaningans wouldn't be necessary if they'd just release some goddamn decent games.

Just had Sweaty on our team. Great to hear a proper Yank accent on there.

Though he did frighten our resident old geezer West Country dude with his "PENIS PENIS PENIS PENIS" moniker. Good for a laugh though, hearing the old dude say "Penis, hey Penis, ammo over here!". Then Sweaty goes all hero Yank and says "I'll handle the Witch". Gets his face ripped off by her and says "Awww my ol' Virginia hunting skills failed me there".

Picked up this game yesterday, been tooling around in the online Survival games a bit. I have to say, its pretty well done. Took a bit of getting used to the speed of the zombies and other noob things, but after a few games I've been drillin em down. I really like the atmosphere and tension that goes on during a round, and the graphics are pretty well done.

I go by '25th', so hit me up Span, Sweaty and whoever else plays L4D.

We tend not to play that much survival - A quick blast every now and then after we've played through a campaign. I can only stand it for a coupla go's before I get bored.

Can't seem to find "25th" though, is that your proper Steam name?

I'm "Spandexxx" but if you can't find me just look for the "Planetbattlefield" group. You'll find me in there.

If you're ever on in the afternoon you might see us. We tend to fire her up about 8pm our time and play for a couple of hours or so. Mostly addon campaigns nowadays but we'd be glad to have a blast through the Valve maps with you.
