Shadow Complex

Postby DickSchittlippz on Mon Sep 28, 2009 11:23 am

The other day, I downloaded Shadow Complex from the Xbox Live Arcade. It cost 1200 points ($15) and so far, it has been worth every penny. It's a side-scroller with some extra depth (they refer to it as 2.5D instead of 3D), and it's actually a refreshing throwback to the games of our youth. The graphics are super sexy, and the gameplay is completely addictive.

It's part scrolling shooter, part puzzle game...kind of like Contra and Metroid combined. The level design is outstanding. The only downside is, you need an Xbox to play it. That said, any of you with an Xboxand $15 need to jump the fuck all over this.

Hooray Xbox Live, for providing us a place to get inexpensive but kickass games.

Been meaning to give that one a try. There's also a Zombie Apocalypse XBLA game I've seen people playing. Do you know if that one is any good?

I hadn't really paid a whole lot of attention to the Live Arcade, but after playing Shadow Complex, I'm gonna have to go back and try out some of the other games available. Maybe I'll give Braid a shot, too.

my one buddy said i maed game with zombies is pretty much like smash TV (old school console/arcade game). it is too bad eventually it just quits out on you (guy must have been lazy).

Ya, i actually bought zombie apocalypse the other night in a drunken haze. It is pretty fun, similar to the other zombie game and geometry wars in that its pretty much just a twinstick shooter. though you get a chainsaw too. It looked like they were trying to cash in on the L4D craze, as the style is similar and the one air port level looks almost like the L4D level. But it is a 3/4 over the top shot instead of first person.

These games are a lot more fun with more people, unfortunately I only was playing it with my one buddy.

There are a lot of quality games on the arcade and even some gems in the indie games. Though a lot of the indie games are shit.
