Wow, that control scheme is utter crap. Since when does flipping your hands around simulate football? It even picks for you what kind of pass it's going to be? That's bollocks. I want to decide if its a ground pass, in the air, or just a straight-up through ball into space. I didn't watch the whole thing through, maybe you press a button to decide what kind of pass?

I'm not seeing how motion control is making the game any better. It seems like they're trying to force it into games where it doesn't belong.

I haven't investigated all the controls yet, only played 20 mins or so last night, so I'm only doing very basic stuff... but judging by the thickness of the manual and the numbers of tutorials, I'm sure that you can control things more accurately, I just don't know how to do it yet.

Are there sites where you can download demos for console games (that you'd burn on a DVD)?

I think each have a monthly magazine that comes with a demo disc.

they both have demos on demand in the store though too.

console companies don't want to allow you to burn anything then use it because it will be easier for pirates.

Xbox Live has most of the current demos available for download. The Wii just has fail.

You can get all the demos for Sony at that store thing. Don't go online with the Wii though...think you have to buy a wireless card or sommat to do it. Tiger Woods 10 for Wii is pretty damn sweet though. Had it for almost a year and just starting to play it.

No, the Wii will go online just fine without any extra purchases.

Dunno what is available in terms of DLC though.

I don't think there is alot of DLC for the Wii, just some game fixes and system upgrades. But the games are cheap and some of them are a blast for a drunken night with friends.

That's the force of the Wii: it's the perfect console for 'social' gaming. Not for hardcore players, but perfect to have fun with drunken friends... :yay:

By the way Dick you can choose how you want to pass in PES 2008, high ball, low ball, etc...

Wasn't 2008 pretty buggy and a backward step? Pretty sure thats what I read on a bunch of sites and that made me wait a bit for 2009 when I was picking up PES for the PS3. Sure you'll enjoy 2008 though, at least it isnt FIFA...

Pretty much just old nintendo games. I think they have some original games that are cross-platform and in the xbox arcade store and ps3 game store, but for the most part just ports of old games.

My buddy has bought a bunch of the ports and complains they haven't put any new ones out for 6 months or so because they aren't sure if the market is taking to their games. Well, when you can play most of them on a PC with an emulator, it might stymie sales slightly. Then again, the majority of people using a wii probably have no idea with a rom is.
