Had the same thing happen with my 2 previous builds...for some reason they fell in love with the ram and wouldn't work without em...or with any others...like...they became monogamous.

Most noob friendly way to tell is to see what score Vista gives your memory.

Some brands of memory are very picky about being mixed with other brands. Well, at least that used to be the case. It's been so long since I built anything!

My upgrade fever is breaking. I started researching and saw that usb3 is arriving as is an updated sata6. That being said Newegg.ca is offering 10% off everything for the next few days...
