I didn't buy the iPod warranty cos I thought Apple products were perfect in every way and never, ever caused you a moment of inconvenience or bother. Isn't that why the Mac cult is so strong?? :freak:

You should spend some time in photography circles. 90% of them are firmly convinced that only a mac and a macbook pro will be capable of running Photoshoop. The remaining 10% ask questons such as "Shall I buy a Mac or a Dell?" as if those are the only 2 options.

They also abhor any kind of software piracy. One guy admitted to downloading some small piece of software and was promptly savaged by all and sundry. I don't mention that so far I have managed to steal an EXIF viewer, 3 different versions of photoshop, 2 different Lightrooms and the latest version of Photomatix Pro. About £2000 worth of software there by my reckoning...

Hehehe. Many of them are. In any given topic of say more than a page there's usually at least 2 people that have me thinking "What a cunt!"

Latest topic at my fave photog forum:

"So I am sick and tired of getting viruses! For the stupidest reasons! Like I happened to land on a page where a advertisement was affected and consequently affected my computer! It is just totally bogus. Anyway I built a pretty powerful computer for gaming about 2 years ago. Little did I know that I would be totally uninterested in gaming within 2 years. So anyway now I have this overpowered machine and I am thinking of selling it and getting an affordable used mac for photo editing/internet (here)."

Well, if you read what the guy is saying, he's under the impression that PCs are TOO POWERFUL to do what Macs do. He's got it half right.

Hey Span, does your dad know about Comet Lulin? It might be fun for him to track as it approaches us and brightens. This comet is actually past perihelion and is headed on it's trip away from the sun, so it has a double tail that's not seen with many bright comets.

With all of the fireball shit going on lately, I thought this was pretty cool. On August 10th, 1972, an object about the size of a truck entered the atmosphere above Utah at such a shallow angle that it exited back into space over northern Alberta 100 seconds later..

Someone at Jackson Lake, Wyoming caught a picture of it streaking overhead. It lost about a third of its mass and 800m/s worth of velocity from the encounter.

That is pretty nifty. Can imagine how cool that looked streaking across the sky.

One of my last weekends in Japan back in 2002 there was a huge meteor shower that rolled in and low and behold Japan was the best place for viewing. 4 of us piled into a car and went up a nearby mountain in Gifu. The thing that got me was that when the bigger ones rolled in you could hear em. Not loud or anything but distinguishable pops.

My bad, it happens every year...the Leonid Meteor shower...and it was 2001 not 2002 that I saw it.

I saw the 2001 Leonids in a pitch black field and under blankets with a tasty blonde.

Many fireworks that night.

I would have a hard time giving a woman attention, when Metors on the ^^^ picture is roaring by at the same time.
Mixed feelings. Like when you're watching the dentists wellshaped boobs, and have a tooth drilled :)
