The best Germany has to offer might be better suited playing teams from the Championship. :lulz:

Actually they look fairly useful. Typically German - Tidy, organised, disciplined... but uninspired.

Uh oh, Pompey is handing out IOUs to the players instead of paychecks.

Can a team be relegated before Christmas?

"Manchester United striker Michael Owen could be out of action for up to three weeks after injuring his groin in the Champions League win over Wolfsburg."

Wow, he almost made it to October before getting hurt.

So Pompey's new owner is trying to sell his stake in the club? Does the man have the money he says he does or not? Why did he get thrown out of the group who took over Man City?

The era of football clubs as some sheik's playtoy is kind of troubling.

Fuck knows. I thought he failed the fit & proper persons test? Won't need to worry about Pompey making any kind of impact soon. Give 'em $1bn and they'll still be in the Champ'ship come August

You might wanna fuck off.

Something some talking head said rang true with me...
He seems to be loving the plaudits of being the owner of a football club.
He is there an hour before kick-off, pompey shirt with his name on the back, pompey cap, signing autographs.
Not putting any money in? (he dont have much).

Thats one thing.

Saw my Physiotherapist today, looked at my ankle. He gave lectures whilst i was in Uni, is how I know of him.
Dude is very successful in my opinion, flash car, treats Olympians, he is Mr sports therapy, im lucky he is nearby.
He is a season ticket holder. He sat next to the owner of one of the two taxi firm owners for some years, im pretty sure he's been involved with the therapy side also.
Blah blah, dude is a well connected, successful dude.

He was saying that he knew some dude in property development. The current owner of Pompey is supposed to be a property developer.....
Apparently (property developer mate of my physio says so...) the arab has never developed a property at all.
He does something like propose a big development in Saudi......then the deal falls through, nothing happens, but he keeps the deposits.
Imagine pocketing the deposits for a skyscraper in Dubai?

Sounds like he is a hustler.

Looks like he has got into a pompey FC business, sorted out the loose ends, has already got a buyer willing to deal with the situation......
Dude may get a meagre £5m out of it.
Many people from a city he will not visit again will dislike him.
In six months he has made £5m, not bad.

'Almost' scored an awesome goal today. From the edge of the penalty box, controlled with my left foot, immediately took a shot with my right, over the goalie, but the ball hit the inside of the top post, bounced in front of the line, and was cleared off. How I regret it. It was perfect! Well, almost...

I still remember my greatest goal ever in vivid detail. I jinked past about 3 or 4 men before cooly slotting it inside the advancing 'keeper. Genius.

Admitedly it was against a team of rag-tag locals in Moss Side (deep in Blue country - I ALWAYS played with my United shirt on making me a prime target) but it was still a thing of beauty.

Memories... the two I remember most vividly are similar balls on the top post (this one and one when I was 18). First one was a beautiful volley, should have gone in...

I played footy for 6 years as a kid. I scored my only goal in the very last game I played. I was a center back, not too may scoring opportunities came my way. In the second half of my last game, I said "fuck it" and carried the ball forward. I fuckin put that sucker in the top left corner.

Zidane! You should have kept going.

I usually play right wing or right defender.
