Can anyone tell me WTF Beckham got MOTM? If Rooney had scored two goals like Crouch, it definitely would've gone his way. Steve Bruce is a cockgobbler :VP:

So I know this is about English footy but did anyone watch the US match last night against Coasta Rica? See the 2 managers get Red carded at the end of the game? Hilarious. Sucks about Gooch though.

I must say, I'm enjoying the hell out of all the "when will Rafa get the axe" talk.

Im not one to sack the manger, Liverpool arent either (well, maybe the Yanfag owners are?).
Rafa has improved us every year, we were two games away from the title last season.

Managers often say they need more time and money....well hes had both.
Reckon some of his mid range (£3-8m) signings have been duffers, and there has been some boardroom interference that screwed up signing Barry.

Importantly when talking about sacking a manager or selling a player is, who is there to replace him?
Name names, who would we get of his calibre in in the next few months?

If we do sack him, maybe we should have him get us in the top four whilst courting others. Then sack him when we safe and have the new manager in before the season ends, so he has the whole summer and a proper pre-season.

Yeah, was reading Alan Hansen's column yesterday and this where he saw Rafa failing, too. Anyone can dump a load of cash on a Torres and be rewarded. It's the complimentary players that help a guy like Torres work his magic that haven't panned out for Rafa.

Lots of talk that he'll end up in Madrid. Can't believe the Galacticos Nuevos couldn't even score a goal against a 3rd division team in the Spanish domestic cup.

Yeah I read that Hansen column, was pretty good, I browse the beeb quite alot.

Been thinking that mid-range player has been an issue even before Benitez. We'd spend say 30-40m and end up with 2 decent signings, 2 duffers and a couple of promising youngsters.
Im thinking if you have the main structure there, then add a big name player. Been wanting a forward and a winger for years, so big signings like Torres and Johnson were welcome for me. Build the team for NOW! Before Gerrard and Torres are already dead!
I still want someone ninja wide on the left, an attacking left back (Brazilians never defend at full back) would do it as long as we have a holding midfielder (Macherano and the new guy).
We really should have a reasonable forward too, as if Torres is injured we are screwed.

Hey, now you know how it felt to be an Arsenal fan last year when our whole back line mysteriously disappeared.

We lose Gerrard and it all goes wrong :(

Its not just Gerrards contribution, its how he makes all the half-decent players around him look good.
