[CAT] Scratching Post

Watched the wrestler the other day. Very good movie, very moving, Rourke was excellent. Watched The Fly tonight. Funny, I had forgotten most of it. That part where Geena takes off her stocking made me feel all fuzzy...

Wrestler was decent. Didn't meet the hype for me, but still good. Saw The Hurt Locker t'other night which was brilliant. Probably the best war flick I've seen. Also, I Love You Man and Forgetting Sarah Marshall which were pretty damn funny.

District 9 last night. Best film I've seen at the cinema for quite a while.

I downloaded Hurt Locker months ago and was really surprised to see it suddenly appear here. I had never heard of it but had really enjoyed it. Talking to others no one else had heard of it either. Then suddenly it's being marketing to fuck and it's "Coming Soon". Instantly all and sundry want to go and see it and I'm struggling to explain to folk how I managed to get a DVD quality version months before it is even advertised in this country. I don't see why we should have to wait so much longer for releases.

I displayed my displeasure at them delaying release here for so long by distributing my rather excellent downloaded copy to quite a lot of people and inviting them to do the same.

Been meaning to contribute to this thread for a bit as ive recently checked out some newish movies, but less of that.

I just randomly watched a minor TV show called 'Balls Of Steel'.
It was cool.
Basically people come on and pull Borat style stunts.

The best one for me was some chick (hot kinda chick) called the 'Bunny Boiler'.
She basically strolls up to a happy couple and hits on the man.....bigtime.
Guess what, the girlfriend kicks and screams and doesnt like it at all.
Whilst im watching, im thinking.....shes gonna get a fucking punch.....hence, balls of steel.

The other good one was 'Crap Bartender', hes just a cunt.
He gets the change wrong. Customer says get me the manager, 'I am the manager, you tit'.......
Waiting for him to get smacked.
Pours the wrong beer, customer says, thats not the one i want......'Well thats what you asked for, thast what you will have to have'.
These guys are tempting people to smack them in the mouth.

In both of those examples the 'victim' throws a drink at them, im thinking it could quite easily be a frigging glass in the face.
I imagine there are bouncers and security all over just in case.

Balls of Steel isn't bad, nothing too new though. 'Big Gay Following' is probably my favourite sketch.

I also watched that show with Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr. The guest presenter was Jamie Oliver.
Those two make me chuckle, Jaime was a decent craic also.
I havent watched much telly for ages, and tonight i laughed my bollocks off.

This is reminding me now, i was lolling and lolling.....
Frigging Justin always huggs people.
So when he is sat on the couch next to Alan Carr, he has his fucking arm around him. I dunno why, but it makes me fucking lol!

Also, the whole janner thing, that makes me lol.

We've discussed Balls of Steel on here before haven't we? Neg's Urban Sports and all that.

The Bunny Boiler is funny as fuck. Mind you it only works cos she IS fuckin hot.

TV wise I've been watching True Blood. It's okay. Has a shitload of T&A in it including those of Rogue from X-Men.

I was underwhelmed by Basterds. It wasn't terrible, but if I want to hear endless talking, I'll get a girlfriend.

I liked basterds, but I actually like the dialogue across a table kinda thing.
Im thinking there are lots of geeky references in there (I need to watch again).

Was there a Team Fortress 2 reference in there?
You know when the basterds break that guy out of jail?
Its kinda comedy violence, all of them lined out, and it sounds like the TF2 music?

The Devil's Backbone. Awesome movie. But very sad.

Del Toro's first good film was Devil's Backbone. Cronos was utterly shit, but Pan's Labyrinth is an absolute masterpeice. Probably my 2nd favourite film ever. You gotta see The Orphanage too Choda, it's a fair bit Scarier than Devil's Backbone.

Pan's Labyrinth is close on my list. And so is the Orphanage now!

Devil's Backbone was more sad than scary I thought, even though there were some tense moments...
