Movie: Microcosm A French film, about bugs. Subtitled: "The story of the people of the herbs." Bugs do bug stuff, good music, hilarity ensues.

Show: Burn Notice. Nobody's talking about this? This show is have awesome. Hero is from the geographic center between me and Dick. That being Fitchburg, MA. Plus, crazy Irish broad, and also that guy from the Zombie movies.

House Season Three is possibly the best TV series ever, maybe trumped by Arrested Development.

Watched Y Tu Mama Tambien and 13 Tzameti the other day; both absolutely amazing. 13 Tzameti's gotta be the tensest film I've seen.

Season 1 and 2 of House were far better than 3. 3 was getting a bit silly. Running out of storylines IMO.

Also, not enough Cameron in Season 3.

No, seriously.

I mostly watch with the kids or the wife. There is very little I choose to watch except for South Park/Family Guy/American Dad/Robot Chicken/Venture Bros/Iron Chef/Bourdain's No Reservations/Military Channel/Discovery Channel/History Channel/National Geographic.

With the wife together its usually Top Chef/Project Runway/America's Next Top Model/American Idol.

Say what you want about Spongebob, but that is a well-animated show, with great voice talent, snappy dialogue, and matching soundtrack. Beats the ever-loving shit out of Hanna-Barbera assembly-line shows like Scooby Do. Have you ever watched the Banana Splits? Did Nixon write that show? That's the crap I got as a kid.

Mostly I've been amassing classics from the Golden Age of B-movie Sci-Fi, but have seen most of the recent bigguns like Iron Man and Dark Knight. Would recommend avoiding 10,000 BC at all costs - in all honesty I shouldn't even need to be telling you this.

My wife wanted to watch Jumper - my wife is very ignorant of what constitutes actual Science Fiction and not this Sci-Fi tomfoolery Hollywood usually seeks to engage us in. To paraphrase George Carlin: "Did you get this from a book? I bet it don't read like this!" Samuel L. Jackson seems hellbent on destroying his credibility.

The more time goes on, the more I think that Sam. L Jack never had any credibility. He was in enough good roles to make us think he was a serious actor, but when you look at the list of films in his career, it's clear that his career has been about the paycheck, and the good roles were a side effect of being in ever movie released since 1994.

An astute assessment. In the period 1988-1998 (or some other very close decade) he appeared in 60-odd films. More than anyone else in that ten year period anywhere, and more than anyone else in any ten year period, period.
