And does anyone know the probability of making a flush if you're dealt 2 cards of the same suit? I've been calling pre-flop raises when I have 2 cards of the same suit (assuming it's not like a 2 and a 4 or some shit) thinking I'm always in with a shout of a flush but I'm beginning to think that might be folly. For example if I'da got the 4 and jack of clubs like wot Mud got there I'd have had a go with that. At least tried to see the flop.
First, there's a big difference between just two suited cards, or a suited Ace. You really don't want to get a Jack high flush with your cards with two other players in the showdown. And even if you have a suited Ace, you don't want to call pre-flop raises at all costs. The odds of getting at least a four-flush (that means two cards of your suit) on the flop aren't in your favour most times. Don't pay too high a price for getting your flush and then being hammered by a Full House
